Playback
During playback there is video noise.
- Video heads are dirty. Clean the video heads ( 2).
Playback does not start.
- Load a cassette ( 29).
- Set the camcorder to ( 36).
- Tape reached the end (“ END” appears on the screen). Rewind the tape ( 29).
No sound from the built-in speaker.
- Open the LCD panel.
- Speaker volume is turned off. Adjust the volume with the [SPEAKER VOLUME] setting ( 36).
Image will not appear on the TV screen.
- Check again that the camcorder is properly connected to the TV ( 62).
Tape is running, but image will not appear on the TV screen.
- TV/VIDEO selector on the TV is not set to VIDEO. Set the selector to VIDEO ( 63).
- Video heads are dirty. Clean the video heads ( 2).
- You attempted to play back or dub a copyright protected tape ( 65). Stop playback/dubbing.
Memory Card Operation
Memory card cannot be inserted.
- Memory card is not facing the correct direction. Turn the memory card over and reinsert it ( 30).
Cannot record on the memory card.
- Memory card is full. Erase still images ( 54) to free some space or replace the memory card.
- Memory card was not initialized. Initialize the memory card ( 56).
- The folder and file numbers have reached their maximum value. Set [FILE NOS.] to [RESET] ( 78) and
insert a new memory card.
Memory card cannot be played back.
- Set the camcorder to ( 52).
Image cannot be erased.
- Image is protected. Cancel the protection ( 55).
- The write-protect switch on an SD or SDHC memory card is set to prevent accidental erasure. Change the
position of the write-protect switch.
flashes in red.
- A memory card error occurred. Turn off the camcorder. Remove and reinsert the memory card. Initialize the
memory card ( 56) if flashing persists.
Printing
The printer is not operating even though the camcorder and printer are correctly connected.
- Disconnect the USB cable and turn off the camcorder and the printer. After a short while, turn them on again,
set the camcorder to mode and restore the connection.
