TECHNOLOGY & BENEFITS
VIDEO
>>
High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI™) - HDMI™ (High-Definition
Multimedia Interface) is the first industry-supported, uncompressed, all-
digital audio/video connection. HDMI™ provides the best interface between
a DVD player and compatible products, such as a digital television (DTV).
When matched with a compatible TV, this single interconnecting cable
combines: Multi-channel audio, uncompressed digital video, intercommuni-
cation between devices and simple control Protocols. This single cable
connection ensures that all signals remain in their pure digital form and
secure by use of High Definition Copy Protection (HDCP) regardless of
signal output resolution.
>>
Video Upconversion - 720p/1080i - HDMI™ can support uncompressed
digital video up to HDTV level resolution. Thus, the player makes use of this
conduit by up-converting the standard DVD picture resolution to nearly
HDTV-quality with output resolutions of 720p or 1080i.This makes a DVD
player with an HDMI™ connection the perfect match for today’s digital
televisions. And because this conversion is performed in the player, the
signal remains free from excessive digital-to-analog conversion artifacts.
>>
ColorStream Pro
®
Component Video Outputs - These outputs allow the
highest quality video signal to be sent from the DVD player to a component
video equipped progressive scan TV.When this connection is utilized with
today’s HD-compatible sets, typical NTSC artifacts-like video noise, dot
crawl, and flicker-are virtually eliminated, resulting in a low-noise, highly
detailed picture with unequaled color purity.
>>
Digital Cinema Progressive (3/2 Pulldown) - Delivers the smoothest,
most film-like images to any progressive scan television, such as an HD-
compatible one, and ensures maximum resolution.
>>
9-In-2 Card Slot - Media card playback, will accept Secure Digital, Mini
Secure Digital, Memory Stick
®
, Memory Stick Pro™, Memory Stick Duo™,
Memory Stick Pro Duo™, XD Picture Card, Compact Flash and Multimedia
Card. By taking advantage of these different media formats; the DVD player
will allow functionality for JPEG, WMA and MP3 files.
>>
HD JPEG Thanks to a specialize chipset (MPEG Decoder and Scaler) and
the HDMI™ interface with an HDTV display, Megapixel JPEG images are
displayed in their enhanced resolution, versus the image compression that
takes place with component interfaces.
>>
4-Head/19-Micron Head System - Offers superior slow motion effects over
conventional 2 head VCR designs.Toshiba’s 19-Micron Heads match
precisely the width of the SP and SLP azimuths and read only the signal
recorded on each azimuth (not adjoining tracks). The benefit is significantly
enhanced SLP performance that is so good, it rivals the quality of tapes
recorded in the SP Mode.
>>
S-VHS Quasi Playback - This features will allow tapes that were recorded
in a Super VHS deck to be played back in the Toshiba deck without a
significant reduction in quality.
AUDIO
>>
WMA & MP3 Playback - Recordable Compact Discs (CD-R & CD-RW) with
music stored in either the Windows Media™ Audio or MP3 file formats can
be enjoyed.
>>
VHS Hi-Fi Stereo - Delivers the highest quality stereo sound from tapes
recorded with a high fidelity soundtrack. Can be used in conjunction with a
surround sound receiver to create signature Dolby
®
Surround, Dolby
®
ProLogic, or Dolby
®
ProLogic II Surround sound in a home theater
environment.
CONVENIENCE
>>
Auto Clock - This feature ensures that your VCR never blinks “12:00”again.
A special data stream in your local broadcast source (where available)
automatically sets the clock display and keeps it accurate even when time
changes to daylight savings and back.
>>
Commercial Skip - After a program has been recorded, pressing the SKIP
button once during playback will automatically advance the tape 30-seconds
forward bypassing recorded commercials.Pressing the skip button on the
remote again will advance the recorded tape for another 30-seconds for a
total of 60-seconds.(30 sec x 6 Maximum).
