Battery operation
Reduced power, distortion, and a ‘stuttering’ sound are all signs that the
battery may need replacing.
If the radio is not to be used for any extended period of time it is
recommended that the battery is removed from the radio.
1. Remove the battery cover on the base of the unit by unscrewing the
retaining stud using a suitable coin or screwdriver.
2. Fit the battery IEC 6F100 (PP9) to the connector.
3. Replace the battery cover and refit the stud.
Mains operation (via AC adaptor)
The AC adaptor for use with the R761 should provide 9 volts DC output
at 300mA centre pin negative (Roberts type PU609).
1. Insert the adaptor plug into the DC socket on the left side of your
radio. Plug the adaptor into a standard 13A mains socket outlet.
Whenever the adaptor is used the batteries are automatically
disconnected.
2. The AC adaptor should be disconnected from the mains supply and
the radio when not in use.
We would recommend for economy that the R761 be used via the AC
adaptor whenever possible with battery operation for occasional or
stand-by use only.
