Slots andopenings in thecabinet are providedfor ventilation

overheating, andthese openings mustnot be blockedor covered.The openingsshould never be
blocked byplacing the producton a bed,sofa, rug,or other similarsurface. Thisproduct should

This productshould be operatedonly from thetype ofpower source indicated
on themarking label. Ifyou are notsure ofthe type ofpower supply toyour home, consultyour
product dealeror local powercompany. For productsintended tooperate from batterypower,or
other sources,refer to theoperating instruction.
This productmay be equippedwith a polarized
alternating-current lineplug (a plughaving one bladewider thanthe other). Thisplug willfit into the
power outletonly one way.This isa safety feature.If you areunable toinsert the plugfully into the
outlet, tryreversing the plug.If the plugshould stillfail to fit,contact your electricianto replace your
obsolete outlet.Do not defeatthe safety purposeof thepolarizes plug.
This productis equipped witha three-wire grounding-typeplug, aplug
having athird (grounding) pin.This plugwill only fitinto a grounding-typepower outlet.
This isa safety feature.If you areunable toinsert the pluginto the outlet,contact you electricianto
replace yourobsolete outlet. Donot defeat thesafety purposeof the grounding-typeplug.
Power supplycords should berouted so thatthey arenot likely to

overload protection.This isa safety feature.See Instruction Manualfor replacement orresetting
of protectivedevice. If replacementof the plugis required,be sure theservice technician hasused
a replacementplug specified bythe manufacturer thathas thesame overload protectionas the
original plug.
If anoutside antenna isconnected to thereceiver, be sure
the antennasystem is groundedso as toprovide someprotection against voltagesurges and
built-up staticcharges.Article 810 ofthe NationalElectrical Code,ANSI/NFPA70, provides
information withregard to propergrounding of themast andsupporting structure, groundingof the
mast andsupporting structure, groundingof the lead-inwire toan antenna-discharge unit,size of
grounding conductors,location of antenna-dischargeunit, connection togrounding electrodes,
and requirementsfor the groundingelectrode.

For addedprotection for thisproduct during alightning storm,or when itis left
unattended andunused for longperiods of time,unplug itfrom the walloutlet and disconnectthe
antenna orcable system.This will preventdamage to theproduct due tolightning andpower-line
surges.
An outsideantenna system shouldnot be locatedin thevicinity of overhead
power linesor other electriclight or powercircuits, orwhere it canfall into suchpower lines or
circuits. Wheninstalling an outsideantenna system, extremecare shouldbe taken tokeep from
touching suchpower lines orcircuits as contactwith themmight be fatal.
Do notoverload wall outlets,extension cords, orintegral convenience
receptacles asthis can resultin a riskof fireor electric shock.
Never pushobjects of anykind into thisproduct throughopenings
as theymay touch dangerousvoltage points orshort-out partsthat could resultin a fireor electric
shock. Neverspill liquid ofany kind onthe product.
Do notattempt to servicethis product yourselfas openingor removing coversmay
expose youto dangerous voltageor other hazards,Refer allservicing to qualifiedservice personnel.
