Customizing, etc., can be modified.

Press and hold FUNC./SETUP for at least 2
seconds to return to normal mode.
• Press /SOUND (CDE-9874 Series only) or /AUDIO
(CDE-9872 Series only) to return to the previous mode.
• If no operation is performed for 60 seconds, the unit will return to
normal mode automatically.
Setting the Bluetooth Connection (BT IN)
If an optional Bluetooth Box (KCE-300BT) is connected, you can place
a hands-free call by a Bluetooth-equipped mobile phone. Make this
setting when the Bluetooth Box (KCE-300BT) is connected and the
Bluetooth function is used. For details, refer to the Owner’s Manual of
the optional Bluetooth Box (KCE-300BT).
Set ADAPTER when the Bluetooth Box (KCE-300BT) is connected.
• The PHONE button can be used only when the optional Bluetooth
Box (KCE-300BT) is connected.
Adjusting Source Signal Levels
If the difference in volume level between the CD player and FM radio is
too great, adjust the FM signal level.
Subwoofer On and Off
When the subwoofer is on, perform the steps below to adjust the
subwoofer output level.
1 In the normal mode, press Rotary encoder (AUDIO)
(CDE-9874 Series only) or
/AUDIO (CDE-9872 Series
only) repeatedly to select the SUBW mode.
2 Adjust the level by turning the Rotary encoder
(CDE-9874 Series only) or pressing and
(CDE-9872 Series only).

Setting the Subwoofer System
Select either SYS 1 or SYS 2 for the desired subwoofer effect.
Dimmer Control (CDE-9874RB only)
Set the DIMMER control to AUTO to decrease the illumination
brightness of the unit with the head lights of the vehicle ON. This mode
is useful if you feel the unit’s backlighting is too bright at night.

SUBW SYS 2: Subwoofer level change is different from the main

settings, the subwoofer is still audible.
