Pearl screen only appears and freezes on start up. how can i reset mp3 player?

5 i found a recent update for my rca mp3 pearl player. i downloaded it from the rca website.installed it into my mp3 player and it took care of the mp3 not loading on start up. (rca th1602-A pearl mp3 player) update is in url below.
