the battery of my GoGear SA2840/02 was nearly flat last night, with the battery symbol flashing, so i plugged into the USB to charge. However, the computer only recognised it for a second and then failed to detect it was there. The MP3 player showed the 'OK to disconnect' screen when plugged in but did not charge up. I cannot now get it to switch on, and even when linked to the computer it shows nothing. I've tried the reset switch without success. Please help!

5 Part1: You are using wrong cable. I had this problem today. To fix it: Cable you used has missing 1 or 2 pins, due to what it was meant to be used for. Plug in proper original cable, or the one that has full count of pins. (At this stage even wrong cable should work) to get power to unit Plug it into PC

4 Part2: While plugged in, get something sharp like needle or component and press reset button. If it switches off, unplug cable, and replug proper cable in unit and PC. That should do the trick, and it's charging now. These batteries needs 3 connectors, positive, negative and ground/mass, your USB only had positive and negative, so it won't charge your unit. The battery was flat, so it wont respond to PC. Philips has done pretty bad job on that part. Well, hope that helps
