The product documentation says Win2000 or WinXP is required. These operating systems already have the necessary driver. The SMP2002 looks like a USB Flash Disk to these systems. You can copy, rename, and delete files on the SMP2002 just as you would with a flash drive. Connect the SMP2002 using the USB cable provided. Turn the SMP2002 on. The system should recognize the SMP2002 as a removable disk. Copy, delete, rename MP3 files as needed. The SMP2002 appears to play files in the order they are in the internal directory--not necessarily the same order you see when viewing the files with Windows Explorer. To charge the battery: make sure the SMP2002 is connected to the computer and the on/off switch is ON. The pinhole-sized light on the on/off switch side should always be on when connected. The pinhole-sized light on the earplug side should only be on if the battery is charging; if this light is not on then the battery should be charged. It's OK to leave the SMP2002 connected after the battery has been charged. It's a cheap product. You can't expect too much. If things don't work the product may be defective.
