0 What operating system are you using? Hopefully your running Vista, if that is the case you do not want to use any of the drivers from the CD. The player should be seen when you plug in the player to the USB port. You will need to load the software for Win98 and Win XP. Do not connect the player until the drivers have been located and installed. These drivers should load without having ever seen a 8854. See Part 2

0 I would also do a reboot from power off. If you then get some error etc. Then you know it is your driver and it may be corrupt. If your not running Vista, and you know a friend that is, i'd plug the player into there machine and see if it sees the player and creates a drive letter. Or take it to Walmart, Office Depot or Staples etc and plug it into some computer and see what happens. You may be surprised that it is in your operating system. A virus or spyware may be your culprit. See Part 3

0 Af. A virus or spyware may be your culprit. After the system has rebooted and your sitting at the desktop, plug the player in and don't rush it. Mine took around 30 seconds to get the driver loaded and all the hour glasses to go away.ter the system has rebooted and your sitting at the desktop, plug the player in and don't rush it.
