1 It will obvious that it will take longer to charge if the player is on. But in a 8 or 12 hour period it should be fully charged regardless of where you put the switch. It is also not a good idea to overcharge Lithium batteries. The charger you have as it a generic or one that came with the player. See Part 2

0 If it is some generic charger you may ot have a output voltage that is necessary to bring the battery to a full charge. The current capability of the charger is important. In other words it may need to be a 6.0 volt charger to charge a 3.7 volt battery at 500 ma. If your AC adapter is only putting out 5.0 volts you would not be able to charge the battery at more than 100 ma. See Part 3

0 This increases the charge time vastly. However, you have to be careful if you were to connect a adapter with two high of voltage you can permanently damage the battery! Inducing to much charge current makes it recharge faster, but not all batteries are capable of with standing high charge currents. That is the case of these Curtis MP3 players. See Part 4

0 It is always better to use a lower current and longer recharge time. Part 5

0 You still need sufficient charge voltage to get the current level high enough to force the battery to accept the charge. Since these players use the USB connection to recharge that makes them low current users. I think the approach that I used is perfect the charger is for a Motorola Razer cell phone which also has a current limiting circuit to help protect the battery from over charging. It takes mine 5 hours to do a complete recharge. Part 6

0 Still don't leave your player on charge over night etc. All the overcharge gimmics are just that. You can still damage a battery leaving on charge to long period. Hope this lengthy outline answers your question with a explanation.
