2 There are two identical drive belts in the MAS85/17: one for the CD spinner and one for the CD changer and sliding mechanism. I just replaced both. You can purchase them at MCMelectronics.com. Their part number is 42-980. Unit cost is $2.17; shipping was $7.99. If one fails (probably because of dry rot), the other will also probably fail soon. I recommend you replace them both while you're in there!

Getting at the belt is a very involved disassembly operation, including the de-soldering of two DC-motors (four terminals total) from a small PC board. There are easily 30 screws you will need to keep track of. I recommend that you take many pictures as you disassemble the unit. Further, reassembly of the sliding mechanism is not straightforward.
