computer won't detect my mp3 player...

i have windows vista. My laptop won't identify the device; therefore, i cannot use it because of this

5 I have the same problem and have tried several methods but it still won't work. I have tried Yahoo Answers but no luck so far. It even seems that there is no mention of the player at the Emerson website.
