...set both alarms for the same time only am/pm? what color do the lights have to be?

0 When you go to set the time it might start in am... which will be indicated at the bottom beside am.. keep going through the numbers till you reach the same time and there is an indicator light beside pm. :) And the different lights.. are different alarms. red=buzzer alarm; Green=AM/FM alarm; Yellow=CD player alarm. It will all wake you up. just make sure you have the volume up, the radio tuned in and a CD in the player!
