3 I called Emerson and this is NOT a weather ALERT radio. I thought this was an alert radio also. Turns out, this is exactly what it says, a "weather radio". Who wants to listen to the weather all day?? You need to get a weather alert radio; which is a different one.

0 True, the RP6251 lacks any SAME or tone detector circuitry. I am kind of partial to the Oregon Scientific WR601 because it uses SAME to filter out the counties covered by KEB98 (Buffalo) in which I have no interest. It also takes AA cells, comes with an AC adapter (switches seamlessly), and comes with both a belt clip holster and a desk stand. It is water resistant, with all buttons and openings either sealed or having "fold away" "rubber" plugs.
