i have an mp3 the one with out screen and i have a...

i have an mp3 the one with out screen and i have a charger(mp3 mp4 usb wall charger) and the charger has two ligth red and green when i have the mp3 off and charging the ligth on the charger is red and when i have the mp3 on and charging the ligth is green so should i leave it on while charging and if i so wont it damage the battery sorce
