5 i had this problem then found the answer in the manual. music play: hold play/pause button and then press previous/next to turn volume up or down

4 yep i discovered the volume when i pressed the center button diagonally in any direction and then it showed a volume strip and the forward or back arrows raised and lowered the volume.
