1 Press and hold the play button until the screen turns off, that's it, it's now turned off. Then if you don't want it to turn on accidentally, disable the iPod controls. For you to do this, locate the hold switch on the top of the iPod, opposite the headphone jack, by sliding the hold switch to HOLD (an orange bar appears)
