Where is the hole for headphones on this thing? I only see an 'AUX' hole but when I plug my headphones in it the sound still comes out of the speaker. Can anyone help me?

My 70 year old parents are using this converter box (Memorex Digital Converter Box MVCB1000). I have bought them a universal remote to make changing channels and controling a DVD/VCR TV as easy for them as possible. I need the code for this converter box so that I can program it into their universal remote.

Can't believe we can not connect this new unit to our direct tv box because there are no instructions in English..Why sell it in the USA then...DVD player progressive scan MVD2016BLK. Need set up and operations in English please.
