how do you turn the power off? If you hold the play/ pause/ stop button, the music stops, but the power stays on. HELP!!!

My player will not turn on; nothing appears on the screen. It was good for a couple of days, but now it doesn't work. I misplace my owner's instructions so don't know how to solve this problem.

my player was working fine then it just froze and i couldnt do anything not even cut it off.So i waited for like an hour but it still wasnt doing anything.So i fliped it over i pushed the reset button an it cut it off.But it wont cut back on now..What do i do??
