pDIGITAL OUT
Switches the outputting methods of audio signals
from the PCM/MPEG/DOLBY DIGITAL connector
on the side panel of the player.
D-PCM (Downmix PCM)
When the player is connected to an audio
component without a built-in MPEG Audio
decoder or a built-in Dolby Digital (AC-3)
decoder.
If you play MPEG or Dolby Digital (AC-3) sound
tracks, the output audio signals are mixed down to
2 channels.
• MPEG
When the player is connected to an audio
component with a built-in MPEG Audio decoder.
If you play the Dolby Digital (AC-3) sound track,
the output signal is stereo.
• DOLBY DIGITAL
When the player is connected to an audio
component with a built-in Dolby Digital (AC-3)
decoder.
If you play the MPEG sound tracks, the output
signal is stereo.
• MPEG/DOLBY DIGITAL
When the player is connected to an audio
component with a built-in MPEG Audio/Dolby
Digital (AC-3) decoder.
The player outputs the appropriate signals
automatically, when you play a DVD VIDEO.
pPARENTAL CONTROL
Set a password and playback limitation level when
you play DVD VIDEOs with playback limitation for
children. For details, see “Limiting playback by
children (Parental Control)” on the next page.
