Important Battery Precautions
• Any battery may present a risk of
fi re, explosion, or chemical burn
if abused. Do not try to charge a
battery that is not intended to be
recharged, do not incinerate, and
do not puncture.
• Non-rechargeable batteries, such as
alkaline batteries, may leak if left in
your product for a long period of
time. Remove the batteries from the
product if you are not going to use
it for a month or more.
• If your product uses more than one
battery, do not mix types and make
sure they are inserted correctly.
Mixing types or inserting incorrectly
may cause them to leak.
• Discard any leaky or deformed bat-
tery immediately. They may cause
skin burns or other personal injury.
• Please help to protect the environ-
ment by recycling or disposing of
batteries according to federal, state,
and local regulations.
Some of the following information may
not apply to your particular product;
however, as with any electronic product,
precautions should be observed during
handling and use.
• Before using the product, please
follow and adhere to all warnings,
safety and operating instructions
located on the product and in the
user book. Save all instructions for
future reference.
• Do not expose product to rain and
do not use near water; such as, sink,
wet basement, swimming pools, etc.
• Always leave suffi cient space around
the product for ventilation. Do
not place product in or on a bed,
rug, bookcase or cabinet that may
prevent air fl ow through vent open-
ings.
• Do not expose product to extreme
temperatures such as found near
a hot radiator or stove, or in a car
parked in the Summer sun.
• Connect power cord only to AC
power source as marked on the
product.
• Some products employ a polarized
AC line plug (one blade is wider).
This is a safety feature. The plug
will go in the power outlet only
one way. If the plug doesn’t go into
the outlet completely, turn the plug
over and put it in the other way. If
it still doesn’t fi t, contact a qualifi ed
electrician to change the outlet. Do
not defeat the safety purpose of
the polarized plug.
• Route power cord to prevent it
from being pinched, or walked on,
or melted by a hot stove or radiator.
• To clean cabinet, unplug AC power
cord, then use a soft cloth damp-
ened only with water.
• Do not place lighted candles, ciga-
rettes, cigars, etc. on the product.
• Unplug AC power cord from outlet
during a lightning storm or when
product is left unused for a long pe-
riod of time to prevent damage due
to lightning or power line surges.
• Care should be taken so that objects
do not fall and liquids do not spill
into the product.
• Never add accessories that the
product has not been designed to
accommodate.
• Use only the manufacturer’s ap-
proved mounting instructions and
hardware when installing product.
• Do not attempt to disassemble
the cabinet. This product does not
contain customer serviceable compo-
nents.
• Do not handle the unit or power
cord when your hands are wet or
damp
• Carts and Stands —
The appliance should
be used only with a
cart or stand that is
recommended by the
manufacturer.
• An appliance and cart combination
should be moved with care. Quick
stops, excessive force, and uneven
surfaces may cause the appliance
and cart combination to overturn.
• Damage Requiring Service –This
product should be serviced by quali-
fi ed service personnel when:
A. The power supply cord or the
plug has been damaged; or
B. Objects have fallen, or liquid has
been spilled into the product; or
C. The product has been exposed to
rain; or
D. The product does not appear
to operate normally or exhibits a
marked change in performance; or
E. The product has been dropped,
or the cabinet damaged.
• When service or repairs are com-
pleted, ask the service technician to
perform the safety check described
in the service manual and to
confi rm that replacement parts have
the same safety characteristics as
the original parts.
• Overloading - Do not overload the
wall outlets, extension cords or inte-
gral convenience receptacles as this
can result in a risk of fi re or electric
shock.
• IF YOUR PRODUCT OPERATES ON
BATTERIES, adhere to the follow-

A. Any battery may leak electrolyte
if mixed with a different battery
type, if inserted incorrectly, or if all
batteries are not replaced at the
same time.

Portable Cart Warning
AC power
Plug the power supply cord into
the AC power jack on the back of
the unit, and into an AC power
supply outlet that accepts the plug
supplied with your unit.
AC OUTLET POWER SUPPLY:
120V~60Hz
The AC power plug is
polarized (one blade is
wider than the other)
and only fi ts into AC
power outlets one way.
If the plug will not go into the
outlet completely, turn the plug
over and try to insert it the other
way. If it still does not fi t, contact
a qualifi ed electrician to change
the outlet, or use a different one.
Do not attempt to bypass this
safety feature.
Power is fed to the unit even
when it is not functioning. To cut
the power supply off, the power
cable must be unplugged.

• The unit can program
up to 20 normal audio
CD tracks.
• In program mode,
RANDOM playback cannot
be selected.
Extend or reposition the
antenna for better FM
reception. Rotate the
unit for better AM reception.
Battery power
You can insert 6 C-sized alkaline
batteries (not supplied) and you
can take your stereo just about
anywhere.
• Open the battery compartment
door on the bottom of the
unit by pressing down on the
tab and pulling out the cover.
• Before inserting the batteries,
observe the polarities (that is,
+ and -) of the battery, then
relate the polarities to the
engraved diagram located on
the battery compartment door.
Insert batteries in the battery
compartment.
Note that the AC line cord must
be unplugged from the jack on
the back of the unit to operate on
batteries.
Precautions
• This compact disc player uses
a laser to read the music on
the disc. The laser mechanism
corresponds to the cartridge
and stylus of a record player.
Although this product
incorporates a laser pick-up
lens, it is completely safe
when operated according to
directions.
• Discs rotate at high speed
inside the player. Do not use
damaged, warped, or cracked
discs.
• Do not touch the pick-up lens
which is located inside the
disc compartment. To keep
dust from collecting on the
pick-up lens, do not leave the
compartment door open for
an extended period of time. If
the lens becomes dirty, clean
it with a soft brush, or use an
air blower brush designed for
camera lenses.
• Minimum distances around
the apparatus for suffi cient
ventilation.
• The ventilation should not
be impeded by covering the
ventilation opening with items,
such as newspaper, table-
cloths, curtains, etc.
• The rating plate is located
at the bottom cabinet of
apparatus.
Headset Safety
To use a headset safely, please
keep the following in mind:
• Do not play your headset at a
high volume. Hearing experts
advise against continuous
extended play.
• If you experience ringing in
your ears, turn down the vol-
ume or stop using the headset.
• Do not use a headset while
driving a motorized vehicle or
riding a bike. It may cause a
traffi c hazard and is illegal in
many areas.
• Even if your headset is an
open-air type designed to let
you hear outside sounds, don’t
turn up the volume so high
that can’t hear sounds around
you.
BAND AM/FM – Selects AM or FM band.
TUNING – Selects radio frequency.
/ CD / RADIO / OFF – Selects operation mode. To switch off the unit,
select OFF.
PROG. – Enters CD program mode.
MODE – Selects playback modes.
BASS – Turns bass boost on and off.
VOL. – Adjusts volume.
PUSH TO OPEN - Push to open the mp3 device storage compartment
door. Push the door to close it.

Connecting mp3 Player
1. Open the mp3 storage
compartment by pushing PUSH
TO OPEN on the top of the
player.
2. Insert the audio cable into the
mp3 player’s headphone jack
and start playback of the mp3
player.
3. Close the storage compartment.
Adjust the mp3 player
to midrange volume and
adjust the master volume
by rotating VOL. knob on the
unit. Do not turn the volume
of the mp3 player too high
as this may affect the sound
quality. For other playback
operations, control them on
your mp3 player.
Selecting CD mode
Slide the selection switch to CD
position.
Loading music
1. Press the PUSH TO OPEN
button on the unit front to
slide disc tray out.
2. Place a disc on the disc tray
with the label side facing up
and then push the disc tray
back in.
Playing and pausing
1. In stop mode, press to begin
playback.
• The icon is displayed.
2. During playback, press to
pause playback. Press again to
resume.
• The icon fl ashes in pause
mode.
Skipping and searching
1. Press or to skip to the
previous or next track respec-
tively.
2. Press and hold
or to
search quickly current track
backward or forward respec-
tively.
Stoping playback
Press to stop playback.
Playback mode
In CD mode, press MODE
repeatedly to select among the
following playback modes with
icons show on the display :
• REPEAT (fl ashes) - Repeats
current track.
• REPEAT - Repeats all tracks.
• - Random playback.
• No icon - Normal playback.
Creating programs
1. In CD stop mode, press PROG.
to enter program mode.
The PROGRAM icon fl ashes on
the display. “P01” (fi rst pro-
gram position) shows briefl y
on the display followed by
“00” fl ashing.
2. Press or to select the
track to be stored.
3. Press PROG. to store the
selected track.
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 to
continue programming.
5. Press in program mode to
start program playback.
Displaying and editing
programs
• In CD stop mode, press PROG.
repeatedly to recall and display
program. Program position
shows fi rst, followed by track
number.
• While track number is dis-
played, press
or to edit
track number. Press PROG. to
store newly selected track.
Deleting programs
Press in CD stop mode to delete
all the stored tracks.
• Opening the CD
compartment door or
switching mode will
delete all the stored tracks.
• The unit remains in program
mode once programming
track is done.
Troubleshooting tips
System doesn’t turn on
• Unplug the unit for a moment,
and then plug it back in
• Check the outlet by plugging
in another device
No sound
• Adjust volume setting
• Make sure you’ve selected the
correct function
Poor radio reception
• Adjust the antenna for better
reception
• Try turning off electrical ap-
pliances near the unit, such as
hair dryers, vacuum cleaners,
or fl uorescent lights
CD doesn’t play
• Make sure you’ve put a CD in
the tray
• Make sure the CD’s label is fac-
ing up
• Try another CD
• Make sure that Pause mode is
not activated
• Make sure CD function is
selected
Cleaning the exterior
• Disconnect the system from
AC power before cleaning the
exterior of the unit with a soft
dust cloth
• Clean the exterior with a soft
clean cloth or slightly moist-
ened chamois leather. DO NOT
use solvents as it may cause
damage to the unit.
Handling CDs
• Do not touch the signal sur-
faces. Hold CDs by the edges,
or by one edge and the hole.
• Do not affi x labels or adhesive
tapes to the label surfaces.
Do not scratch or damage the
label.
• CDs rotate at high speeds
inside the player. Do not use
damaged (cracked or warped)
CDs
• Make sure CDs are stored in
their original case after use.
Keep them away from damp,
humid or abnormally heated
places.
Cleaning CDs
• Dirty CDs can cause poor sound
quality. Always keep CDs clean
by wiping them gently with a
soft cloth from the inner edge
toward the outer perimeter.
• If a CD becomes dirty, wet a
soft cloth in water, wring it
out well, wipe the dirt away
gently, and then remove any
water drops with a dry cloth.
• Do not use record cleaning
sprays or antistatic agents on
CDs. Also, never clean CDs with
benzene, thinner, or other
volatile solvents which may
cause damage to disc surface.

AVC MULTIMEDIA (“AVC”) makes the following limited warranty. This limited
warranty extend to the original consumer purchaser and is limited to non-
commercial use of the product.
One Year Parts & Labor Warranty
AVC products purchased in the United States are warranted to be free from defects
in materials or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of their original
retail purchase. If the unit fails to conform to this warranty, we will service the
product using new or refurbished parts and products, at AVC’s sole discretion.
During a period of one year from the e ective warranty date, AVC will provide,
when needed, service labor to repair a manufacturing defect at its designated
Service Center. To obtain warranty service in the Untied States, you must rst call
our Customer Support Center at 1-866-444-5746 or 1-800-252-6123, during
the hours listed in the box on the right. The determination of service will be
made by AVC Customer Support. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN YOUR UNIT TO
AVC WITHOUT PRIOR AUTHORIZATION. New or remanufactured replacements
for defective parts or products will be used for repairs by AVC at its designated
Service Center for one year from the e ective warranty date. Such replacement
parts or products are warranted for an additional one year from the date of repair
or replacement. The Customer will be required to ship the unit to the Service Center
indicated at the time Customer Support is contacted to make the necessary repairs.
The customer is responsible for all transportation charges to the service facility.
Packaging and Shipping Instruction
When you send the product to the AVC service facility you must use the original
carton box and packing material or an equivalent as designated by AVC.
LIMITED WARRANTY
Your Responsibility
1) You must retain the original sale receipt to provide proof of purchase.
2) These warranties are e ective only if the product is purchased and operated in
the U.S.A. or Canada.
3) Warranties extend only to defects in material or workmanship, and do not extend
to any product or parts which have been lost or discarded, or damage to product
or parts caused by misuse, accident, improper operation or maintenance, or use
in violation of instructions provided with the product, or to product which has
been altered or modi ed without authorization of AVC, or to products or parts
thereof which have had the serial number removed or changed.
Out of Warranty
All warranties implied by state law, including the implied warranties of merchant-
ability and tness for a particular purpose, are expressly limited to the duration of
the limited warranties set forth above. With the exception of any warranties implied
by state law as hereby limited, the foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all
other warranties, guarantees, agreements and similar obligations of manufacturer
or seller with respect to the repair or replacement of any parts. In no event shall AVC
be liable for consequential or incidental damages.
No person, agent, distributor, dealer or company is authorized to change, modify
or extend the terms of these warranties in any manner whatsoever. The time within
action must be commenced to enforce any obligation of AVC arising under the
warranty or under any statute, or law of the United States or any state thereof, is
hereby limited to one year from the date of purchase. This limitation does not apply
to implied warranties arising under state law.
This warranty gives you speci c legal rights and you may also have other rights,
which may vary, from state to state. Some states do not allow limitation on how
long an implied warranty lasts, when an action may be brought, or the exclusion
or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above provisions may
not apply to you.
