  I've tried charging it on Vista and XP to no avail. I've tried all the combinations of inserting the USB cable to the Player with the switch OFF and then to the computer and then turning it ON, switch ON and then to the computer, Plugging the USB into the computer first, and then repeating the above steps. I've tried wiggling the USB cable to see if there was an insertion issue. The light on the ON/OFF side can be seen through the hole on the Earphone side of the player and the light on the earphone player flashes when it's playing (while plugged into the computer via USB) but will only flash quickly in all other circumstances. I can play music while it's plugged in and after I pause it the light turns off after a minute or two.
  Q. Do I have to have the MP3 player playing the entire time it's charging? And if it's playing, and the light is flashing, how do I know if it's fully charged?
