The manual does explain how to turn off the cd player. I always have to take out the battery to turn off the cd player
Also where do I get an adapter to plug in to electricity? What type?

I need the rubber protective cover that protects the headphone jack and the power jack...it is gray and had two little plugs that seal the jacks

Portable CD Player
I play audio books on discs while driving, the car connecting cassette frequently goes into fast forward on its own and I have to immediately press the play tape button on the cassette player to continue listening. How can I remedy this?

I bought this D-EJ761 at a store for $1-it came wih a a ac adaptor, you can use 4.5V Sony AC adaptors with it fine.
