Problem with receiver
When I turn the receiver on, after just a couple of seconds the word "Protect" flashes on the display screen. No settings can be changed and the receiver doesn't work.No explanation is given for this in the manual.

I just bought a SONY MHC-EC98Pi shelf system and when I turn it on it has a "Protect" message and nothing will work, I made all connections were correct and nothing works. it's brand new out of the box. Itried resseting it but it does not let me do it because of that message. Any idea how I can fix …

We hooked up everything o the tv and used the hdmi to the tv but whenever we want to see our dvr cable we cant see it or hear it with the surround. Do i need any extra cable or what? the dvd and radio work perfectly

lost remote

Multi-channel decoding
None of my HD channels seem to pick up the multi channel decoding function on this unit. The RS and LS never kick in from the cable box despite the digital signal.

My remote for the stereo has stopped working. My little girl had the remote and it was working before she had it and now it seems she has locked the remote or something like that. Is there a reset code I can use to try and get my remote working again???

When the CD player is turned on the CD tray opens, spins, then closes. This repeats over and over until the unit is powered off.

Sony DAV IS10 'dest error'
I have a Sony DAV-IS10 home theatre system and getting a 'dest error' message. I took back the system to the retailer from whom I purchased, & they tested the system; but on a Sony TV - I have a Phillips. I wonder if this is the problem. If not, how do I fix it, pls.

Tape Player Doesn't work
All worked well until we tried to program the tape player. When we were instructed to press the play button, the unit went to standby and shut down. We have tried several ways to get it out of this mode but have failed. We did a cold reset as per the instruction booklet but have not had success.

Clicking Noise
All of my speakers make a soft, rythmic clicking noise when the receiver is turned on. Although one can't hear it when there's a loud song on, you can between songs, during quite points of a movie or during mellow songs. It's extremely annoying

Tape deck not working
Hi my Soni MHC-GN800 tape decks are not working. Tape Deck A plays at very high speed and tape deck B cannot play at all. Any help with fixing this issue will be greatly appriciated. This system is 2 years old with no warrenty

Graphic Equaliser
Unit been switched off (unplugged) for three months. Now when it plays CD's the equaliser is totally out,with background music to the fore and main vocals pushed to the back. Lost instructions and doesn't seem to respond to any alteration to graphic equaliser. It's driving me mad !!

Progressive scan problems
