lights on but nobody's home
the standby light stays on all the time but nothing, I mean nothing works. I've unplugged it over night and still nothing. I assume it's now an anchor. Question is is there a way to get a dvd out that is in the tray with out taking a hammer to it?

Transparent Gray Rectangle On Screen
Certain cable channels display a transparent dark gray rectangle in the lower third of the screen. It is approx 75% of the screen width and 20% of the screen height. It comes on after 15 or so seconds. It disappears when the menu is activated, but returns 15 or so seconds after the menu is exited…

boot error shutting down
I've had the MP3 player for about a year but used it infrequently. Now when I turn it on, I get the error message "boot error shutting down". My computer doesn't recognize/see it when it's connected with the USB port. I found many other people on the internet with this same complaint.

Usually in the manual or user guide you have codes to program the remote control to run the dvd or vcr. I could not find any thing for that.

Radio stops working
Switch on the Radio, it works for maybe ten to fifteen minutes, then shuts down. Seems to be timer related, but this unit has no timer.

Does the MVD4544 allow you to pre-program start and end times for a VHS recording? According to the spec sheet it's an 8 hour programmable VCR. Please send instructions.
